Fall Tree Care (Or Rescue!) Watch Video:

Should you aerate tree roots?
Yes, a tree’s roots must have oxygen in order to grow. Soil compaction surrounding the root zone can severely harm a tree. Aerating and de-compacting the soil in the critical root zone can relieve the issue. Beneficial microorganisms also need air to create heathy soils.

This also provides a great opportunity to remedy nutrient deficiencies with a soil acidifier for your trees. We always include an organic carbon based fertilizer.
What is tree excavation? It is the process of using a pneumatic method to remove a buildup of soil or mulch around the base and root zone of a tree. After years of mulching and soil buildup around the base, it is the number one cause of tree death. We can relieve your tree from strangulation and greatly extend the life by exposing the ‘root flare’ at the base.
